Naracoorte Golf Club has joined Australia's Top 100 Public Access Golf Courses in Australia. The Announcement was made on the 18th December in the January 2015 Publications of GOLF AUSTRALIA. Naracoorte Golf Club makes its debut in this ranking and some might suggest it's long overdue. The par 72 is not overly long and the rolling terrain makes it an enjoyable walk.
Naracoorte Golf Club is located on the Northern edge of town. The course is set in parkland with eighteen holes on slightly undulating country. Set on a rise overlooking the surrounding Naracoorte flatlands. Each picturesque hole is bordered by gum trees and other Australian natives.
There are four Par 5 holes, four Par 3 holes and the remaining ten holes are Par 4. Bunkers are featured on most holes to add a degree of difficulty. All the greens are grassed and most out of town people comment on the condition of the course as one of the best they have played on – equal of many Melbourne sand belt courses.
The length of the course is 5,949 meters, and has a par of 72 for the men, whilst the ladies course measure 5,292 meters also with a par of 72.
The generous, undulating fairways are fully watered and mostly couch, while the superbly smooth greens are large with subtle borrows.
The clubhouse bar is open to players on competition days. Catering facilities are available on request for large groups and the clubhouse may be hired for weddings and other special events.
The Club boasts a fine Driving range, all weather mats, 3 levels of grass tees, and the driving range is available 7 days a week for members and visitors alike.
The course is located just on the edge of town a short distance from the Riddoch Hwy. The layout and design
of the course is exceptional with seven of the tees located within 100 meters of the club house and car park, making it perfect for anyone wanting to have that 'quick hit' on their way through town. Special rates are available for these short games, which has become very popular for visitors passing through to Adelaide.
